I've kept the size of the image quite large...so you can see the details :3
I spent a lot of time at school finishing this dress...had to stay at the lab until 12 at night on a sunday a couple weeks ago....x__x it was very depressing...
anyways~ this was one of our projects we had to do this semester for our draping class.
what is draping? the class doesn't have anything to do with drapes and curtains...draping is a term used when you drape fabric over a form and manipulate the fabric to achieve the 'drape' and look you want.
(That's the best description I can come up with, I personally think it just took up a lot of my time on my weekends cause I had to go in everyweek to work on the assignments... >__> enough complaining...on to more explanations~!)
Our big project's requirement wanted us to use plaid and manipulate it in a creative way. My professor said I should've played with the plaid more and gave me a 6/10 on the component >__> whatever...*grumbles*
I quite like my dress the way it is! *nods*
The dress is completely held together by pins in the picture. you don't sew anything in draping...(although I did baste stitch the side seams and used the machine to help me to the gathering...), but otherwise, there are hundreds of pins on that dress!
My dress is currently in pieces in my family room cause I had to take it apart to make a pattern from it...it was a sad day on tuesday of this week that just past...I stayed up til 3am pattern drafting. Broke my back. x__x
p.s. I love my Judy...she's awesome (my dress form ^__^; )
